“Be the Change You Want to See”
We had a fantastic 2023, starting with more allies joining our community taking the number to more than 100 people in our network! To top that we formed great partnerships with Accenture and CGI and delivered highly productive sessions on “Unconscious Bias”, Confident and Self promoting sessions through “I am remarkable” and some great work on bridging the Gender Pay gap.
2023 ended with a bang bringing together like minded women and allies sharing stories, and celebrating each other’s successes through our 2nd successful event hosted by Accenture. I would definitely like to say that it was a great event, very well received. Colleagues described the day as “inspirational, uplifting and welcoming”, “Brilliant conference – thank you” “My favourite talk was about Being a Kind Leader whilst being Kind to Yourself, some great points made from the panellists. The main takeaway was the tagline “Be the change you want to see”
We had some great conversations and feedback from delegates on the day. Everyone really enjoyed networking with new people and felt the panel conversations were interesting and connected like minded individuals. The Ideation session was very popular due to its energy and whole room interaction, one person said “it was mad but fun” We discussed the importance of key factors to recruiting and retaining #womenindigitalanddata and allow them to truly thrive.
Since 2022 /2023, we have evolved and grown as a community, gaining insights from other communities across the government, wider public sector and private sector. We collaborated and partnered with like minded organisations who are delivering similar objectives like ours.
2024 is about taking the ideas what we discussed, strategised at the event and throughout the year and delivering some impactful outcomes. We plan to host inspirational speakers, interesting thought provoking sessions on gender pay gap and the work we are doing in this area, neurodiversity, our work and collaboration with the cross government women in tech community which we are a part of – so watch this space! It is all about being the change we want to see as very well articulated in our vision statement.
