Women in Digital Banner

Welcome to the Cabinet Office Women in Digital Network. We are an open, friendly and dedicated network supporting and empowering women to reach their full potential currently working or aspiring to be in a digital and technology role.

Our key objectives:
  • We want to promote mentoring and job shadowing opportunities
  • Promote public speaking in front of senior leaderships
  • Develop/Upskill/Recruit/Retain women in digital and data domains
  • Encourage women back to work
  • Career progression into senior digital and technology roles

We have prioritised  4 work streams that we are most passionate about.

Changing of the Culture

We welcome allies who can use their influence to promote greater diversity and inclusion. By holding others to account by challenging discrimination and inequality and becoming diverse and inclusive we can create an organisation that is reflective of the society we are serving.

Confidence Building

Breaking down the barriers on gender bias is everyone’s responsibility. By becoming aware of unconscious bias and raising awareness women can become more confident about applying roles. Women would only apply when they could demonstrate most of what was in the job description. By reaching out, mentoring and supporting and encouraging it has given women the confidence to apply for positions they would not normally consider.

Recruitment and Retention

The technology industry is predominantly male dominated with an ever growing gender gap. As an organisation we need to fulfil the growing workforce demand by prioritising the need to attract, hire and retain women so that we do not miss out on the benefit of this valuable pool of skilled professionals.

Partnering with Communities

We want to support women and build a community and create a platform that offers a sense of belonging. By supporting women in organisations they are less likely to leave mid-career due to the lack of supportive mentors and other work-related barriers.
